benefit of Providence School.

miles.
(in
fact 4027 miles)
Average
of 80 miles per day.

In 2006
he cycled around
all 32 counties of Ireland
and raised Euro 18,000
which kept Providence
up
and running for 2 years.

it, and view photos on

THANKS
TO ALL WHO SUPPORTED THIS VENTURE |

The
object of the cycle was to raise funds to pay those 6 committed local
teachers in Providence School and an extra teacher must be employed in the
coming year.
Since
Providence was founded in 1999 as a response to the Christian Brothers
decision for a Move to the Margins it has grown from a group of 20
local very poor children to a school of 250 offering vocational
training in the morning and classes in the afternoon with a view to
sitting for state exams....more
900
Euro pays a teacher for a year and 9000 Euro will pay the running
costs of Providence for a whole year.
Euro
40,000 raised.
So, this cycle has raised sufficient to keep Providence for almost 5
years. |
